Meet Dr. Julia Khatibzadeh

Dr. Julia Khatibzadeh (you can call her Dr. K) is excited to join the practice with Dr. Son and help patients achieve their healthiest smile. She believes in prevention first and foremost, but understands that life happens sometimes and she takes a judgement-free and individualized approach to caring for her patients. She is committed to putting her patients first, takes the time to listen to them, and takes pride in her gentle and comforting chairside manner.

Dr. K first became interested in dentistry in high school when she had a horseback riding accident.  She broke her jaw, lost a lower front tooth, and chipped a couple of her upper front teeth. She was thankful for the great care she received from her dentist, oral surgeon, and orthodontist.  These practitioners inspired her to pursue dentistry so that she could help other patients achieve their healthiest smiles.

She attended North Carolina State University from 2013-2016 and graduated as Valedictorian of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences (Human Biology) and Minors in Spanish and Nutrition. She then completed her dental school training and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Upon graduating, she earned the Academy of General Dentistry Senior Student Dental Award and the American Association of Women Dentists Eleanor Bushee Award.

Dr. K stays up to date on the latest science and techniques through continuing education courses.  She is a member of the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society.  Outside of dentistry, Dr. K enjoys working out and staying active through spin and yoga.  She also enjoys live music, playing the drums and piano, and spending time with her friends, family, two cats and Jack Russell Terrier.
